Garage Organization

This was an interesting project, as it was more of an installation than an organization project. The client wanted to handle the editing phase themselves - and they did a tremendous job.

Because the client is an avid gardener, much of the functionality of the space revolved around ease and access to gardening tools. We spent the majority of the time installing hooks, holders and labeling an amazing Halloween decorating collection.

Here were our priorities:

Swappable Gardening Tool/Winter Shovels - the client uses rakes, hoes, etc. in the Spring/Summer and shovels in the winter. We made sure that the hooks would be interchangeable so that she could swap them seasonally to be closer to the garage entrance.

Outdoor Chair Storage - we used the upper vertical space to store less-used outdoor chairs, while still making sure they were accessible on a dime.

Holiday Decoration Storage - we consolidated and labeled her holiday decorations, also ensuring that they are accessible.

Gardening Stations -

  1. Small tools, gloves and ready-access items.

  2. Specialty tools and pots, tree jackets, tarps, freeze blankets.

  3. Rolling racks for heavier pots and yard lighting.

Door Storage - the client had taken off a few interior doors, but wanted to keep them in case. We utilized some additional vertical space (as well as a little bit of experiment with cords) to keep the doors up and out of the way.

Total Organizing Time - 10 hours

Product Budget - $250
